I’m standing here smiling like my fingers weren’t icicles, but it was 40 degrees when these photos were taken. Even though I love the snow, I’ll admit to a bit of spring fever since I’m planning outfits for our neighborhood’s 4th annual moms’ cruise next week. It’s the best I can do until we’re sailing into the sunshine is wear heavier fabrics in lighter colors – the opposite of a trick I mentioned in this post that’s worked well when seasons transition or the weather is awkward.
This green sweater is my jam – the color is cheery and bright, and I love the button detailing up each side. Threw a striped t-shirt underneath for a bit of interest; while I’m long-torsoed (ugh, grr), the sweater runs slightly shorter than others, making it a perfect contender for layering to bridge the gap or for pairing with high-waisted jeans. The jeans have a demi-boot cut, which is a fun update to the usual skinny jeans. Of course, leopard flats and a vest for another bright, springy layer that’s still functional for cooler temps.
Anyone else reluctantly admitting that they’re ready for spring?
